June 2021 - The Summer Season with WID
Summer is upon us, and with it, a good deal of reopening and looking ahead to what’s to come for our society, our sector, and for WID. As we officially close this program year, we look back with vivid memories of maintaining community in the midst of challenges; standing up for what is right; and providing our members with the tools and resources they needed during the past year. As I reflect, it makes me grateful for each of you.
I am also grateful for our three members of the WID Board of Directors who will be exiting on July 1st. Thank you to Martha Lauria, Linna Quigley, and Shola Akintobi for your tireless efforts to ensure WID’s success. Thank you for your service to helping women in our sector and for being incredible colleagues in leadership of WID. You are simply the best and you are sincerely appreciated.
There are some amazing things planned for WID this summer, as we prepare for a very special event next month. More details to come.
Slowly, but surely, I’m hearing more and more of you tell me of planned summer endeavors. I hope you enjoy it all. Wherever you may find yourself, we hope you enjoy our Summer Reading List, found below in the e-News. This is a perfect time for relaxation and enlightenment.
It is also a great time for rejuvenation and to hopefully finding ways to bond with old WID friends or meet new ones. Remember, we offer a Member Directory to members, so you can see who is a member and find ways to connect.
And as always, WID is here to support and celebrate you. Please do stay in touch and let us know what it is that you’d like to see and do in the coming year. When our members speak, we listen, and as often as possible, we try to create opportunities that help our community thrive. Wishing you every good thing this summer and beyond.
