New and Now
A community update from Allies in Action, on the results for Allies Give 2020.
2020 has been an unprecedented year, to say the least. Yet, I am very proud that Women In Development (WID), NY has risen to the occasion of continuing to lead the way for women in our profession during these strange times.
In 2018, Brooke Bryant and I, in close cooperation with WID Board Member, Chantal Bonitto, embarked upon the journey to incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives at WID. It is with great joy that we distribute the final report of WID's Diversity and Inclusion Task Force.
I am pleased to announce my newest initiative - Women of Color in Fundraising and Philanthropy (WOC).™
From recent conversations with those in the black community and communities of color to many allies who are not people of color, but who want to know what can be done to take action, WID has determined that it is time for a real, honest dialogue about how we can move forward and enact change; first as human beings and then as a professional community of fundraisers and philanthropists.
In these challenging times, it is crucial that we also practice self-care and de-stress. As you may know, music is my passion and one of my favorite ways to unwind. So, as a treat, I present a recording of An African American Musical Journey.
