On trust-based philanthropy
Provide unrestricted funds and maximum flexibility to support and uplift communities.
Trust that those advocating for and/or are closest to the communities to know best on how to address the communal needs
On funding the racial justice movement
The racial justice movement requires funding. Operating on limited funding is not sustainable to achieve long-term goals.
Grant foundations will need to understand and truly re-evaluate what they need to commit in order to best invest in the racial justice movement.
On white allyship
In order to best support the Black community, it is crucial to remain centered on Black people.
“…white allies can center themselves in these in these discussions that is not helpful.”
One can center themselves as an ally and being willing to continue to do the work of addressing discrimination within their own spaces.
